Still Soaring

I went back to work today. Everyone wanted to know how the workshop went. Every time anyone asked I would almost tear up. How do you describe the indescribable? It was, I finally decided, like being in a little corner of heaven. I spent every day surrounded by beauty and love and creativity. People were kind and accepting and genuinely friendly. I think I was hugged about five or six times a day, usually by E (I forgot who said I could and couldn't use their real names, so I'll be using initials for everyone until I am told otherwise!) My biggest fear in going to Squam was would I really be able to make a friend in five days? Well, let me tell you...these were some of the nicest people I have ever met and I felt like I made a friend every five minutes. Here are some of my closest friends from Squam, my cabin mates, The Ladies of Easterlieigh. I am so grateful to have met each one of you!
And yes, if you caught that in the beginning, I went back to work TODAY, not yesterday. We had quite the wind storm in upstate NY on Monday morning about 2 a.m.ish (and elsewhere, I imagine). Power was knocked out all over and schools were closed!! So to top off my beautiful weekend, I got a "snow" day in September. God is smiling on me this week. Except that He didn't let me have internet access on my snow day, and after Squam, that was almost like taking away the air! That's my excuse for not having a more detailed post up by now. I would have blogged, but instead I spent the day making more tomato sauce. So for now, I will leave you with some more dock pictures (that's what seems to be on all the other Squam blogs!) and I will tell you more this weekend!

I loved meeting you at SQUAM...you are so wonderful and such a sweet one for coming right up to me and saying "hey"...

and like you and so many others, finding the right words to describe our wonderful time in the woods is difficult...it's hard to describe feelings, isn't it ???

anyhow....you little bike buddy of mine....I would love to have to have copies of those pictures of us...I wish I would have left my camera in the hands of someone else so that I had some shots, but I know that you'll send some my way...

and I have a great photo of you, too, but I'm planning on using it as part 2 or 3 of my SQUAM posts...and of course you can have a copy of it if you like it !!!

hugs to you.....

Beautiful pictures Tara. I always have the same problem when I come back from a retreat - it's hard to reassimilate to the real world after being surrounded by people who are sooooo on the same page as you. Sounds like it was a wonderful trip - I hope I can arrange to go next year!!

Magnificent photos; they take me back for a moment to all the magic and happiness. I have a new "secret place" to visit now when the going gets tough. I just remember the possibilities. They are always there. xo

Dear Tara,
I am so glad to have finally found my way here! Beautiful descriptions and photos....it was such a pleasure to meet you and be your cabin-mate.

And now I am looking forward to reading more and getting to know you, Lady of Easterleigh.
